Holmag. Inc Mission Statement

Holmag Inc. passionately dedicates itself to nurturing the budding talents of South Florida’s and Nevada’s creative community. Through our platforms, both print and online, we encourage artists and creatives to confidently showcase their unique works and visions.

Founded and directed by Laura Lafrance, a proud alumna of Miami International University of Art and Design, Holmag Inc. lights up the artistic landscape with two inspiring issues each year.

What began as a humble YouTube channel offering vlogs and tutorials has blossomed into a vibrant lifestyle magazine that speaks directly to the hearts of millennials, Generation Z, and every creatively inclined individual. Now established as a nonprofit entity, we proudly stand as a beacon for the up-and-coming — truly a magazine “for the emerging, by the emerging!

Our magazine culture is all about fun and youthful energy, serving as a dynamic bridge connecting entrepreneurs and employers with the academic worlds of universities, colleges, and even high schools. We invite you to join our mission: share your creativity and your journey. Please take a moment to read and complete the necessary release form here. Further down, you’ll find the submission guidelines and a helpful FAQ section to assist you every step of the way.

Transparency & Accountability

In assessing non-profit organisations, we define accountability and transparency as follows:

  • Accountability is the obligation or willingness of a non-profit to explain its actions to its people.
  • Being transparent implies a non-profit has to disclose and make crucial news about itself accessible.

We believe that non-profit organisations that are accountable and open are more likely to behave with integrity and learn from their mistakes because funders want to know they can trust them. In general, non-profit organisations that adhere to quality standards in governance, donor relations, and related fields are less likely to engage in unethical or reckless behaviour. As a result, non-profit organisations should have less of a danger of misusing funds than businesses that don’t implement these procedures. Non-profit organisations funders and owners must always consider responsibility and openness.

Holmag Inc. Will only keep 2% of all donations to cover overhead operations. A detailed breakdown will be provided to our funders/donors monthly and a summary will be posted on the site for all to see where the funds are being used. If you would like to become a donor, visit our support our cause page.

Because we are counting on your collective donations to support our mission statement to advocate, educate and promote our local emerging creatives, we strongly advise you take a moment to visit our donation page to read on how to donate to our cause.

Advertising With Hol.mag Inc

When you evaluate various magazines, it becomes apparent that the majority of the pages are dedicated to advertisements rather than substantive content. Industry standards indicate that on average, advertisements constitute 54% or more of a magazine’s composition, highlighting a significant reliance on advertising revenue over editorial content. In some instances, magazines are composed of up to 95% advertisements.

At House of Lafrance Magazine, our approach is fundamentally different. While advertising will be present, it will be curtailed to only 25% of our total pages and will be offered at no cost. Our primary commitment is to the readers and contributors of our magazine. We aim to deliver a publication that prioritizes high-quality content over the profusion of advertisements—a magazine that our readers truly enjoy and engage with, not merely flip through.

We rely on your support to grow and sustain the integrity of our magazine. We encourage you to consider advertising with us and to acquaint yourself with our privacy policies before proceeding.

Advertising page specifications

The printer of the third party we use to print our magazines takes approximately 1/8′ (.3175 cm) off the top, bottom, and outside edge (face) of an untrimmed page to produce the trimmed page size. Variations of up to 1/8′ can occur from printer to printer to aid in binding, so please keep critical content at least 1/4′ (.635 cm) away from final trim sizes.

Images can bleed off the page, but please be mindful that trim is not always exact. If you’re designing your own pages in InDesign or Photoshop, please be sure to keep critical content—images and text—at least 1/4′ (.635 cm) away from final trim sizes and at least one inch (2.5 cm) from your book’s edges for ImageWrap covers to match our third party’s printing criteria.

Page Size: Premium Magazine (matte paper + semi-gloss cover) 8.5 × 11 IN. (22 × 28 CM)
