Hey Trendsetters!

Your girl just got back from the very first Las Vegas Fashion Week. While everyone else was chasing the established names and the usual glitz, you know I had to switch it up! I focused on Friday, the 14th on the real future of fashion: the students and emerging designers! Think of it as scouting for the next big thing before anyone else even knows their name. You’re welcome! 😉

Shout-out to the Future Icons!

First up, let’s talk about the incredible talent from the Southwest Career & Technical Academy (CCSD)! Remember how I raved about them before? The students from the Fashion Design Program showed up. They were led by the one and only Levi Harbeson. They showed out!

The creativity flowing from these students was next-level. It’s always so inspiring to see raw talent before it hits the mainstream. We saw everything from wearable art. There were pieces that totally pushed the boundaries. For example, the incredible work they designed for the Circus Couture benefit gala!

A huge round of applause for Levi Harbeson! Their costume design background (Criss Angel, Cirque du Soleil!) brings such a theatrical, phenomenal edge to the student work. Seriously, keep an eye on this program. The flair and attention to detail were just… chef’s kiss. (You can find more on Levi and the students on Page 28 of the official program!)

The New Kids on the Block: Emerging Designers

Now, let’s talk about the emerging designers we saw. Full disclosure: you need to adjust your expectations. If you’re expecting the polished collections you see from Paris, Milan, or New York, think again. Those collections are years in the making. Vegas is just getting started, and these designers are finding their footing. And honestly? That’s what makes it so exciting!

We saw some seriously promising collections from names like Rene Tyler and Jolanda Gooden. There were also remarkable pieces from Briella Lee, Beeva, and Jason Ghazinour. Additionally, we were impressed by Mauricio Espinoza‘s collection. (You can find more on these designers on Page 20-21 of the official program!)

It’s like watching a band play in a garage before they sell out stadiums. You see the heart, the hustle, and the unfiltered passion. Were all the seams perfect? Maybe not. Was every design revolutionary? Not yet! But the potential? The drive? Absolutely radiating!

This is where true innovation starts. It happens in spaces like this. Designers are experimenting, learning, and daring to be different here. It’s not about perfection; it’s about evolution. Honestly, for a first-ever Fashion Week, they created a platform for these voices. This achievement is a massive win in my book.

“Thank you for always supporting us emerging designers! Everyone always forget about us!”

Why This Matters to YOU!

So why am I hyping up the students and emerging designers? Because this is where trends are born. This is where genuine style emerges, not just mass-produced fast fashion. Supporting these creators means you’re investing in originality. You’re backing creativity. You’re investing in the future of what you’ll be seeing on your feeds and in your favorite stores.

Plus, how cool is it to say you knew about them before they blew up? 😉
