Nice to e-meet you Tyler! What is the best way to describe what you do for a living?

Hi, Thank you for having me. I honestly haven’t thought a lot about how I would summarize my work. I started by making clothes for myself. I always liked higher-end fashion brands but I was never capable of affording them.

How did you get started?

I always liked fashion but never took any steps to pursue it. Finally, in my junior year I switched into a fashion course at trade school and got a sewing machine. A lot of the stuff I made in the beginning was from re-purposing garments I had in my room.

Do you have a specific audience that you cater to or are your creations more broad?

I don’t really have a target audience and never really thought about having one. I just make things that I think are cool. It so happened that other people liked what I was making too.

Have you done any shows?

I have not done any shows yet. haven’t really thought about if I want to have any shows in the future. I don’t really have much to say on that at the moment. If I have something that specifically excites me, I would have a show. If there is something I want to express, I think I would have a show.

Has it been difficult or overwhelming to be in the fashion industry?

I don’t think I have much relevance in the fashion industry yet. I also don’t exactly know where I want to sit in it for the future. I think the schedule can be shocking and would be an adjustment if I did enter it further.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

I don’t know where I would see myself in five years. Hopefully I will manage to spread my work on a wider scale through shows or the internet. Either would be fine.

What would you say you have in common with designers like Virgil Abloh?

When considering other designers like Virgil Abloh, I focus on having fun with my designs. I strive to continue being creative. It’s important to not take the fun out of creating things.

Lastly, how can we find you on Social Media, and do you have a store location?

My social media handle is @tdk.ny and my work is shown in Three Dogs Artisan collec-tive, an art gallery in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
