Born and raised in the “pizza capital” of New Haven, Connecticut, Freddy Cajigas found his love for photography after getting a hold of his mother’s polaroid camera. “Now it’s just something I do,” Freddy says, equating photography to breathing. He can’t live without doing it. He honed his skills with a Nikon 3200 until he turned twenty-one years old. Starting to take photography seriously as a career path, Freddy traded in his 3200 for a Nikon 7100, packed up his life, and traded his food-filled homeland for the sun-drenched skies of Miami. He now resides in Hollywood, Florida, a thriving city located just north of Miami. Freddy can be found roaming the streets with his trusty camera and drone. With his drone, a Mavic Pro, he likes to find the lines of a landscape within his shots. “It’s the perspectives for me. If you shoot it right, anything can become art,” Freddy says. And with that, you can understand Freddy’s outlook for shooting. It’s about having fun, trying new perspectives, and being fearless about what you are shooting. Now that his work is gaining traction on the photography scene, Freddy hopes to network and engage with new partners and clients. He would like to continue working on fashion and editorial-style shoots, but would like to expand into other areas as well. “I would love to be a touring photographer to capture celebrities and important peoples’ lives. I want to travel the world with my camera. That’s the dream!”
