My name is Ralph Evans Pierre but I go by Ralph. I was born in Miami on May 6, 1986, but I was raised in Port-au Prince Haiti. I went to school at Nouveau College Bird (NCB). In 2003, I moved to the US permanently and attended Miami Union Academy. I joined the Military in 2007, went to war, and was honorably discharged in 2015.

I’ve always had a profound admiration for photography. If I had to thank one person for pushing me into photography, it’s Kassandra Hyacinthe. Back in 2012, May 6th to be exact, I met up with her and casually she asked me what I wanted as a birthday gift. After explaining my passion for photography to her, I told her “a camera.” We then drove up to Wolf Camera store at Sawgrass Mills shortly after. I was asked which camera I was looking for, with no hesitation I said “Canon T3i” and without hesitating, Kassandra bought it.

In the beginning, I was more into landscape and architecture photography until I met Nasiphi in 2015. Nasiphi Sobahle is one person that I’ll never get tired of talking about. She is from South Africa. We immediately bonded as I found in her a muse. From our first shoot in 2015, Nasiphi has never wanted my watermarks removed from any of my photographs of hers, even when they were published on newspapers, magazines, websites, articles and here’s the kicker: she even refuse to work with other photographers except for me and, at times she would even ask me permission to do so. I mean, if that’s not humbling enough, I don’t know what is. So talking about folks that always pushed me to go further with photography, Nasiphi Sobahle is for sure number one.

Starting my photography journey was super confusing to me. I was all over the place. I “nally found a focus once I got into the wedding industry in 2015. That’s when I met my friend’s brother from another mother, Jonathan D Clément aka Dave was also starting. He resides in Haiti. We were constantly keeping each other in check, and watch each other’s back. Fast forward to 2017, Dave and another friend, Marvens Amazan, decided to launch a company named The After-focus Visual Studios, that would focus on the wedding industry in the Haitian market in Haiti. That venture offered services that are not only affordable but different from what the masses were offering. A few months into it, they called upon me to be part of the team and I accepted. And this is how I came to be the one overseeing the contract here in the US and Dave and Marvens oversee the ones in Haiti. The After-focus has a team of photographers and videographers all having their field of expertise in “portrait, retouching, events, graphic design, etc…”
