Creative Highlight: Ryan Daoust

I, Ryan Daoust, come from a small town in upstate New York.  How I have moved from a warehouse worker to now a fashion stylist in the Sunshine state, Florida, is a long story.  I will shorten it to these simple words I live by, ” stop doing what you think you need to do and start doing what you love to do.” Both will support you financially but one will lead you to a place you will regret.

To me, fashion is simple. It’s an artistic story you wear.  So what story are you trying to tell the world? My story involves both internal and external influences and how they shaped me into who I am today.  Influences impact us all in the fashion industry, from our culture, beliefs, friends, family, the colors we wear, to even time itself.

With my creative direction, you will see how the reflection of something in the past can still effect the present.  Have you been drawn to a decade in time that you have never lived in? It’s as if you get wrapped up in it all, from the music, right down to the fashion.  What we all wear today reflects many different parts of history.  The hybridity of it all is nothing shy of amazing.
