1. What The Food Burgers

Besides a few other locations here and there that sells food, Miami Shores is home to a few grand, flavorful, and delicious food trucks. If you are starving and in the area looking for a mouth-watering alternative to late-night food, well, my friends, you need to try WTF! (which stands for what the food!). We promise you will not regret it.

A couple days ago, We drove to 79th Street and Biscayne to see if there were food trucks still open past midnight. That street is famous for the food trucks. Once there, you will notice this brand new truck on the northbound side of US1 named WTF Burgers. We were in the mood for a burger, so we drove in and ordered the Chorizo burger. The cashier/greater won us over as soon as he said all burgers come with sweet potato fries! We love sweet potatoes!

Because of Covid restrictions, if you aren’t using their seats to eat, they request for you to stay in your car, and they will take the food to you. Not even 15 minutes in, he brought us the paper bag with our burgers. Man when we tell you, we dove right in. With the first bite, we kid you not, we had a ratatouille cartoon moment! It felt like an explosion of Latin flavors. The spices balanced the chorizo’s saltiness, and oh, the green, creamy, avocado sauce that moistens the bun made for a perfectly juicy burger. The sweet potatoes were just as delicious, not too soggy, not too oily, just right!

You should definitely give them a go if you are in the Shores! We hope they stick around for a long time because they are officially one of our late night spot! You may follow them on instagram here or better yet, go check them out! We are sure they have the right condiments to hit your unsatiated spot!

2. Food Town Miami

Miami Shores is slowly becoming our favorite food spot!

Two nights later, we drove around to scout for more food trucks, and what do you know… Food Town was right there all along.

Northbound on US1 and 82nd street, you will find the Food Town truck parked quietly in the middle of the night for all your late-night burger cravings. But their menu is not just limited to burgers; it is pretty extensive! They also have tacos and finger bites that I am sure are to be delicious.

So we ordered the salmon taquitos on one of our late-night food hunting, and man, that was different. You know how everyone knows tacos for their juicy, beefy, or vegetarian contents? Well, brace yourselves; the salmon taco called “Acapulco” will exceed your expectations! It even has mango cubes in it, making it the proper explosion of sweet and salty flavors inside your mouth!

Food Trucks in Miami has boomed since COVID-19!Going around the city and tasting the flavor of all the different cultures from Latin America and beyond is a fantastic adventure!

Next time you are in the Shores, drive late on US1 and keep an eye out on your left side if you are going southbound or right northbound. From 82nd street all the way to 79th street, you will find one or two food trucks waiting for you to savor its delicious recipes!

Small Businesses are booming even more in South Florida, and we love to see it! Food Town maybe just one truck, but the excellent selection of dishes will keep you coming for more. But hey, it might be just us… We are food-lovers!

Until next time!
