Starting a magazine you guys! OMG!

Being on the designer end, especially as an up and comer, gives a lot of perspective as to how hard it is to actually break through the industry of fashion. You either rub the elbow with the right individuals, or you don’t.

It is quite exciting to have a fashion degree. You get to experience all the shows on both the front and back end, help set up, and even travel if you have enough funds to sustain that lifestyle. After all the scholar years, though, what’s next?

We see some of the most talented and gifted designers wish they could be in the position of some bizarre designers out there.

What is so attractive about those designer’s eclectic, sometimes weird designs over these talented designers. It all comes down to marketing really, they have the buzz effect. In some cases, they are frequently being talked about praised for their bravery to defy most fashion rules and ethics.

House of Lafrance slowly but indeed starts to form with all these observations, almost as a tormented thought, really. It doesn’t sit well with us seeing talented souls wither away while some bask in their glorified extravaganza. House of Lafrance takes a stand and will give these talented artists a platform to be themselves, showcase their art, whatever that may be.

Business-minded individuals will perhaps doubt and question such target market; “they are startups, they do not have the money!” Well, I must tell you, as a startup myself, I would do what it takes to get my work out there, even if it involves paying a minimal fee. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I promise, my heart is in the right place with this one!

The Magazine was officially released in Spring 2017. The response is minimal, of course, as expected. However, the second issue will launch on August 26 and, remember the little word we use earlier… oh, the buzz effect? Well, we see and feel it already…

The invited and showcased artists are thrilled about the idea and want to participate and share their arts with the world… well, South Florida, really for now. We hope to grow bigger and better and someday sit back and sip on umbrella drinks with all of those artists somewhere very tropical.

I know a thing or two when it comes to the emerging industry, I am one myself! This magazine is going to be exactly what I wish I had access to when I first started in the fashion industry. So wish me luck y’all!

Until next time,
